BAREFOOT RUNNING

8th February 2010

Barefoot running has become a popular topic of debate recently.

Supporters of barefoot running claim it is how we were designed to run and keeps us in touch with what our feet are experiencing.

By focusing on strength and conditioning rather than speed, it gives you a different kind of work out, however barefoot running is not always practical, especially if you are running on pavements in towns and cities.

You can read the full debate here.

jogscotland recommends wearing a cushioned and supportive pair of running shoes and well fitted socks. Specialist running shops like Run4It can advise you on getting properly fitted shoes.
