Who should be celebrated at Glasgow's Bridge to Nowhere?
04 / 10 / 2012
Sustrans is looking for your help with its project to complete Glasgow’s renowned “Bridge to Nowhere”.
The bridge in Anderston, which links with a local cycle network, will give pedestrians – and runners – a route across the M8 to the city centre.
As part of efforts to make it an enjoyable route to use, a portrait bench is to be installed close to the bridge, at the bottom of Argyle Street. Sustrans is asking the people of Glasgow to vote for three characters from a choice of 12, including Billy Connolly, Alasdair Gray, Lulu and Margo MacDonald. The successful nominees will be immortalised in a bench similar to the one below. There is also the opportunity to suggest your own nominee.
