The 6.5K route at Loch Lomond is also open to those who don't want to get their feet wet.
The Lomond Masters Aquathlon takes place on Saturday (22nd) in Balloch, and organisers are welcoming anyone who doesn’t want to swim, but would like to take part in the 6.5K run.
Runners can register on the day from 9am–10.30am at the Slipway Café for £10. The event begins at 11am, and runners will start as the first swimmer leaves transition.
Or, if you’d like to try the whole thing, you can sign-up online for the full event until tomorrow (Thursday), and start with a 600m swim in Loch Lomond. Organisers say it is an ideal race for novice open water swimmers as the water is shallow.
