Challenge Wins at the Double for Dan and Victoria!

A jogscotland first at Edinburgh 5K Challenge!
Last night’s 5K Challenge races in Edinburgh brought the 2012 series to an end and also provided a first for jogscotland as Dan Clarkson won, and Victoria Baillie was first female, in both the 6pm and 7.30pm races!
Dan had come prepared to run both races and crossed the line first in both in impressive style – running 16.23 in the 6pm and 16.41 in the 7.30pm race. For Victoria however it was completely unplanned as, after finishing first female in the 6pm race in 18.38,she was persuaded to enter the 7.30pm race at the last minute – in which she actually ended up running 9 seconds faster!
The Edinburgh event was a fitting end to the 2012 Challenge series with a fantastic 371 runners in the 6pm race and 397 in the 7.30pm race. Music from the Drifters added to a great atmosphere despite the inclement weather.
Well done to everyone who has taken part across the whole series – Aberdeen, Inverness, Peebles, Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh – hope to see you at an event soon and back for the Challenges next year!
