Preparation

Preparation

Be prepared

It is important that everyone is prepared for the 5k, no matter if you walk, jog or run (or a combination of them all) you should do some sort of preparation!

Tips for Race Day as well as the jogscotland 5k training programme for beginners can be dowloaded from the Training Programmes, click here.

Runners Medical Resource is a great website for some general rules on training and competing.  It contains information on what to eat and drink, training and illness, how to keep well on the day as well as providing guidance on preparation and whether you are fit to compete.  If you are unwell or have been feeling unwell on the day of the event then it is advisable not to take part.  This can be disappointing when you have trained hard or especially if this is your first event, but it is not worth putting your health at risk.   Please check out Runners Medical Resource for further information.
