Race packs must be collected on the night of the event from the Collection Desk in the grounds of the hotel. The race pack will contain your running number, timing chip, ties to attach the chip to your shoe, baggage label and 4 safety pins. Please arrive early to allow us to start the event on time.

Travelling Directions:

If using Sat Nav or online mapping services, such as Google Maps, to get to Dryburgh Abbey Hotel you should enter the postcode TD6 0RQ to obtain directions. Dryburgh Abbey Hotel is 4 miles from the B6360 turnoff on the A68.

Full details about the hotel can be found at the following web address:

http://www.dryburgh.co.uk/

The only way to get the hotel is by car. We advise that, where possible, you car-share with fellow participants. Parking is available in the paddock field in the hotel grounds, this is on the left as you come down the hotel driveway and will be signposted. Parking is not available directly outside the hotel as this is where the Start & Finish of the run take place. You must arrive before 6.45 pm as there will be no vehicular access to the hotel grounds after this time.

The route:

The route starts and finishes outside the hotel. It starts with a small loop around the beautiful paths of the hotel grounds then out into the surrounding area on a few of the quiet roads, including a small switch back to the Abbey then downhill to and over the foot bridge. This is followed by a small hill, a lap round round Tweed Horizons, back down the hill, over the footbrige and will end right in the front of Dryburgh Abbey Hotel. The route will be well marked and sign posted and marshalls will be there to help and encourage you along the way. It's a challenging route but possibly one of the most scenic of all the 5k runs.

A map of the course is below:

Other information:

  • Toilets will be located in the hotel
  • There are no onsite changing facilities so please come ready to run
  • There will be a secure baggage area for personal belongings
  • First Aid will be on hand if needed

Refreshments:

The hotel kitchen will be providing BBQ food to purchase afterwards at the hotel. Cold drinks will also be available to buy outside or you can go inside to the hotel bar for teas, coffees or something stronger!
